Agricultural Efforts

Safe, high-quality tea leaves.
Industry-leading GAP certification.
Pioneering safety and sustainability.

We work closely with tea farmers across Japan and our own farms to grow high-quality, stable tea leaves. Tea quality is affected by climate and cultivation methods, so we invest in advanced farming techniques and support partner farmers in adopting them.
In 2008, our Yakushima farm became the first in the green tea industry to earn both GLOBALG.A.P. and JGAP certifications—proof of safe, sustainable agriculture.

to ensure food safety and sustainability

Harada Tea was the first company in the green tea industry to obtain the “GLOBALG.A.P.” and “JGAP” certifications—international standards awarded to farms that demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety and environmental protection through rigorous production management, including the creation of rulebooks, careful control of materials and agricultural chemicals, and strict supervision of every farming process. The company also supports tea farmers across Japan in obtaining GAP certification, promoting “sustainable production practices” that emphasize food safety, worker safety, environmental conservation, and animal welfare.
